The Lanigan family has been associated with the moving
and storage industry since 1920. Prior to adopting the name
Lanigan, the company was know to Memphians as De Soto Storage and Van Company
changing its name in 1955. The company has been an agent for
Allied Van Lines, Inc. since its creation.
Lanigan Worldwide Moving and Warehousing evolved from
these previous companies and was founded in 1955 by Edward J. Lanigan, Jr.
He served as president and owner of Lanigan Storage & Van, and for
many years served on the board of directors of Allied Van Lines,
Inc., until his death in 1971. He was succeeded by his son, Edward
J. (“Jay”) Lanigan III, who served as president and owner of Lanigan
Storage & Van until his death in July 2007. Their legacy of pride
continues through our “hands on” management philosophy.
This philosophy was complimented in 2000 with the welcomed joining
of J. Paul Dorman, Jr., as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial
Officer, and Co-Principal in 2000, and in 2007 with the joining of
Lynn L. Lanigan as President, CEO, and Co-Principal.

Community Involvement
Lanigan is continually called upon by
various charities and community agencies to gratuitously assist in
their relocation, storage, and related needs. Throughout the years,
Lanigan has offered their services to deliver relief supplies to
victims of hurricanes, furniture for the Ronald McDonald House
and Target House, toys to needy children for the Hope Foundation,
and assisted in the distribution of food for MIFA. These are
just a few of the Mid-South's charitable causes that have benefited
from Lanigan's corporate commitment to improving the lives of
others. Although limitations
are dictated by reasonableness, we always endeavor to respond where
appropriate.
